CV Mystery Shopping is a division of CV Marketing Research, a full-service market research firm located in Abbotsford, BC, Canada (about an hour east of Vancouver). We have a diverse client list but we specialize in hospitality, automotive, traditional retail, and personal care. We currently have shops in Canada and the United States.
A Mystery Shopper is an independent contractor who anonymously visits or phones our clients and records their experience in detail, based on surveys we have created. Typical questions ask about your satisfaction with the service, products, and cleanliness.
There is no cost to become a Mystery Shopper with us. Some shops may require that you pay for the items before we reimburse you, but at no time will you be asked to pay a "membership fee".
If you have questions about how we run our mystery shopping programs, click on "ABOUT", and then "FAQs for Shoppers" for answers to frequently asked questions including information about payment, applying for shops, what qualities we look for in our Shoppers, etc.
In the Mystery Shopper application, you will create your own login information, including a username and password. You will NOT be automatically receiving your username or password by email after you have completed the application, so make sure you write down your username and password for future reference, as you will need both to login to this site. We recommend that you write this information on a piece of paper that you can store for future reference. (If you write it on a paper, you don't risk losing it if your computer crashes).
After you have followed these steps, and successfully completed the application you will be able to login to this site by clicking on the "shopper login" and typing in your username and password. You will then be able to see all available shops and apply for shops.
Step 1: Mystery Shopper qualifications: We would love to have you join our team of Mystery Shoppers if you have: >> An excellent command of the English language >> The ability to remember minute details and record them accurately >> Regular access to email, a current web browser, and a printer >> Access to either a fax machine or scanner >> Access to the most current version of Adobe Reader.
PLEASE NOTE: If you do not have access to a scanner or a fax machine, you will not be able to complete the application. (For all CV shops, Shoppers must have access to a fax machine or scanner to complete the shops.)
Step 2:Computer Software Requirements: We recommend that you maintain an up-to-date web browser and email program. This website supports the following web browsers: Internet Explorer 6, Netscape 6+/Mozilla/Firefox, Opera 6+, and Safari 1.2. If you are using an older web browser, you may not be able to use this site.To download current versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape, click on the following icons:
We also recommend that if you have Norton Firewall 2003 that you do not complete this application, as Norton Firewall 2003 is not compatible with this application. We understand that Norton Firewall 2004 users should not have a problem completing the application.

Step 3: If you live outside Canada and the United States: We are now accepting applications from anywhere in the world, but currently only have shops in Canada and the United States. For info on mystery shopping in other areas of the world, visit the Mystery Shopper Providers' Association (MSPA) at www.mysteryshop.org.
Step 4: Computer Settings Requirements: To proceed with this application, cookies and scripting must be enabled in your web browser. To allow cookies, your web browser security should be set to: Medium, Privacy: Medium-high. If you have Internet Explorer, you can access this through Tools > Internet Options > Privacy, then choose a setting that allows cookies.
